    Herbal Medicine - Wellness Path

Herbal medicine is the foundation of our naturopathy services, with the use of potent botanical remedies inherent in all cultures over millennia due to their healing and transformative properties. Complex and synergistic medicines, herbal remedies may exert many biochemical and physiological effects from the one plant, differing from pharmaceuticals that commonly have one very narrow range of action. The roots, seeds, flowers, leaves or the whole plant may be used during herbal manufacturing and the effects of these preparations are gently balancing and stimulating to our innate healing abilities.

What can I expect during herbal medicine treatment?

During a Naturopathic consult, you may be prescribed one or more of the following herbal treatments:

    • Liquid herbal remedies are our most commonly prescribed herbal treatment and are extemporaneously compounded in clinic, based on your individualised health profile and presenting condition/s. Dried herbal material may also be compounded into an individualised and balanced, powered formula, tailored to treat your overall health presentation.
    • Herbal tablet or capsule formulas from leading Naturopathic Practitioner Only brands may also be recommended, and may be an option for clients who are unable to take liquid or powered herbs.
    • Herbal teas may be as an adjunct to your treatment, and can be gentle yet effective at re-enforcing the action of other herbal or nutritional prescriptions.
    • External preparations such as creams, ointments, poultices and salves may be prescribed or extemporaneously compounded in clinic.
